3 Bay Area felons arrested for July 22 Newcastle gun store theft

Three Bay Area felons were arrested Tuesday in relation to a July 22 firearm burglary from Foothill Firearms in Newcastle. The burglary involved a suspect making a hole in the outside of the building to gain entry into the store on July 22. The Placer County Sheriff's Office confirmed the suspect used a power-cutting tool to gain entry and loaded 73 handguns into duffle bags. The suspect was then picked up in a light-colored sedan and headed toward Interstate 80. The investigation identified Tyrone Brennen, 39, of San Rafael as the individual believed to have cut the hole in the building and stolen the guns. According to the Sheriff's Office, Brennen's accomplice was identified as Loren Ray Bingham, 40, of Vallejo, who was believed to have served as the lookout and getaway driver. The Sheriff's Office reported a no-bail Ramey warrant was obtained for Brennen after he and Bingham were identified. The pair was arrested after warrants were served in Vallejo and San Rafael with the assistance of the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Placer County Special Investigations Unit and San Rafael, Novato and Central Marin police departments. Brennen was found to be in possession of large cutting tools, two firearms reported stolen during the burglary and other items from Foothills Firearms, tying his involvement to the burglary. According to the Sheriff's Office, Brennen has a long history of committing commercial burglaries throughout the state by cutting holes into the sides of businesses. Bingham was found to be in possession of a shotgun, ammunition and an item which ties his involvement to the burglary. The Sheriff's Office confirmed Bingham is a known Norteño gang member and has prior felony convictions for possession of a dangerous weapon, possession of a controlled substance for sale, possession of stolen property and vehicle theft. Bingham also had felony warrants for his arrest out of Solano County for possession of ammunition by a prohibited person, robbery and two warrants for possession of a controlled substance for sale. The third person arrested, identified as Richard Edward Nosenzo, 57, of Vallejo, was at the same residence as Bingham and found in possession of one of the stolen guns. According to the Sheriff's Office, Nosenzo has a 1995 felony conviction for escape from jail, three felony convictions for vehicle theft, possession/passing of false checks, grand theft of a firearm, burglary and possession of stolen property. The trio remain in custody in the Placer County Jail and were scheduled to be arraigned Thursday afternoon. The Sheriff's Office confirmed Brennen is being held on a no-bail warrant until his next court date. Bingham has been charged with grand theft firearm, being a felon in possession of a firearm, burglary, conspiracy and being a felon in possession of ammunition. Bingham's bail is $440,000, inclusive of $100,000 bail for this crime and $330,000 in his Solano County warrants. Nosenzo has been charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of stolen property. Nosenzo's bail is set at $435,000. In a video shared on the Sheriff's Office's Facebook page, Placer County Sheriff Wayne Woo confirmed some handguns were recovered and a majority remain out in the community. "I hope this case serves as yet another example that those that want to come into Placer County and victimize our citizens and our business owners, the Sheriff's Office will use every resource at our disposal to make sure they're brought to justice," Woo stated.
