Rocklin incident report: DUI collision, vehicle road hazard and shoplifter arrest

The Rocklin Police Department publishes a weekly crime report. Here are the published incidents from July 29-Aug. 4: Aug. 4 Between the hours of 2 a.m. and 7 a.m., an unknown vehicle sideswiped a pickup truck on the 3000 block of Argonaut Avenue. Nothing was seen or heard overnight, and the victim did not have any suspect information. Rocklin officers issued a case number to the victim. Aug. 3 At 2:27 p.m., Rocklin officers observed a suspicious vehicle in a parking lot on the 2100 block of Sunset Boulevard. Officers contacted the occupants and the passenger was found to have a felony warrant and two misdemeanor warrants for her arrest. She was arrested and booked at Placer County Jail. Aug. 1 At 12:52 a.m., Rocklin officers responded to a vehicle accident on the 5000 block of 2nd Street. Officers contacted the involved drivers and observed that one was under the influence. He was arrested and booked at Placer County Jail. At 11:20 p.m., Rocklin officers observed a vehicle hazard in the roadway at Rocklin Road and Interstate 80. As officers attempted to contact the vehicle, the occupant suspiciously attempted to walk away. Officers contacted her and learned she had several warrants for her arrest. A records check of the vehicle revealed it was stolen. She was arrested and booked at Placer County Jail. At 11:50 p.m., Rocklin officers responded to a call of an agitated subject on the 6600 block of Lonetree Boulevard. Officers arrived and detained the subject. An investigation revealed the male broke the window of a vehicle and he had a warrant for his arrest. He was arrested and booked at Placer County Jail. July 31 At 1:28 a.m., Rocklin officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation on Industrial Avenue at Placer Corporate Drive. A records check revealed the driver was on probation and had a suspended license for a previous DUI. Officers conducted a probation search and located narcotic controlled substances. The driver was issued a Promise to Appear citation and released. At 11:03 a.m., Rocklin officers conducted a traffic stop for a vehicle code violation on Pacific Street at Woodside Drive. A records check revealed the driver had a misdemeanor warrant. She was issued a Notice to Appear citation and released. At 2:36 p.m., Rocklin officers responded to a shoplifting call on the 5100 block of Commons Drive. Officers arrived and one of the suspects fled. Officers apprehended the suspect and an investigation confirmed a theft occurred. A records check revealed he had two misdemeanor warrants. He was transported and booked at Placer County Jail. July 30 At 5:25 a.m., Rocklin officers responded to a hotel on the 4400 block of Rocklin Road for a vehicle burglary report. Officers contacted the victim, who advised his tools were stolen out of his truck overnight. The victim was unable to provide any information on possible suspects. Officers issued the victim a case number and left without further incident. At 9 p.m., Rocklin officers responded to a pharmacy store on the 4700 block of Granite Drive for a report of a suspicious subject who was loitering and yelling near the front of the business. Officers arrived and made contact with the subject, who disobeyed officers' commands to stop. After the subject was detained in handcuffs, officers discovered the subject was in possession of illegal fireworks and deprived a neighboring business of a shopping cart. The male subject was placed under arrest and booked at South Placer County Jail. At around 10:37 p.m., a Rocklin officer conducted a traffic stop on a silver Toyota for a vehicle code violation at the intersection of Sunset Boulevard and 3rd Street. Upon contacting and conducting a criminal records check on the driver, officers discovered he was driving on a suspended license for DUI. Additionally, the driver had two outstanding warrants for his arrest. Officers placed the driver under arrest and transported him to the South Placer Jail, where he was booked. July 29 At around 1:21 a.m., a female victim called the Rocklin Police Department advising she could hear the windows of her house breaking on the 6200 block of Westwood Drive. Upon arrival, officers searched the residence and located several windows that were recently shattered. After a thorough search of the inside of residence, the suspect fled before police arrived. It was later discovered the suspect was the ex-boyfriend of the victim. The suspect was located at his residence in Roseville, where officers placed him under arrest. The suspect was booked at South Placer County Jail. At around 3:37 p.m., Rocklin officers responded to a business for a report of a male subject who had history of stealing from the business on the 6800 block of Five Star Boulevard. The subject was seen leaving in an older blue sedan which was stopped by officers for numerous vehicle code violations. It was determined the driver had an outstanding felony warrant and three outstanding misdemeanor warrants. The subject was also found to be in possession of crystal methamphetamine. The subject was placed under arrest and booked at South Placer County Jail. At 4:01 p.m., a victim called and advised her family member showed up at her residence on the 4000 block of Coldwater Drive in violation of a domestic violence order. Officers confirmed the validity of the order and obtained video evidence of the subject violating the order. Officers contacted the subject a short time later and placed him under arrest. Due to medical complications, the subject was issued a misdemeanor citation at a hospital.
