Lincoln Community Foundation's Bingo Nite is BIG!

The Lincoln Community Foundation (LCF) is one of many valued local charitable organizations serving Lincoln and the surrounding area, distinguished by its role as a catalyst for positive change and as a trustee for community programs. COVID caused a huge hit to community-gathering fundraising events. Once returning to more normal times, the LCF began a series of bingo nights at McBean Pavilion every second Wednesday of the month, each benefitting a community organization. Over the past two years, Bingo Nites have benefited more than a dozen organizations, collecting and distributing more than $100,000 in 2024 alone. Key service groups include the Lincoln Art League, Lincoln's Kiwanis and Lions clubs, the Lincoln Public Safety Foundation and Silver Wishes. In December 2024, Bingo Nite raised more than $11,000 for the Lincoln High School Farm Foundation. Jessica Armistead, Western Placer Unified School District coordinator of the event, said, "What's amazing is the feel of the room and the love and support from the community." LCF President Kris Knutson summarized the success of Bingo Nite(s), saying: "Our goal is to create a funding stream for our nonprofits. It is awesome to see so many people having so much fun." 2025 will kick off Jan. 8 with a repeat of last year's best-attended Bingo Nite, a program for the Lincoln Public Safety Foundation. The LPSF uses the net proceeds to purchase equipment not available through the police and fire department's current budgets.
