El Dorado Hills Fire crews deploy to Southern California to aid in fire fight

Fire crews from El Dorado Hills have deployed to help with the challenging battle to contain the Palisades Fire burning in Los Angeles County, as well as the Eaton Fire in northern Los Angeles County. A crew from the El Dorado Hills Fire Department deployed to the Eaton Fire, which broke out in the hills above Altadena, prompting evacuation orders. Two people have been killed as a result of the blaze, which has burned at least 10,600 acres as of Wednesday morning. The EDH fire crew was joined by crews from El Dorado County Fire, Garden Valley Fire and two Amador County Fire Departments. Also, a strike team from the CAL FIRE Amador-El Dorado Unit was deployed to assist and support firefighting efforts at the Palisades Fire, which hit northwest Los Angeles on Tuesday morning and forced the evacuation of tens of thousands of residents. The Palisades Fire is now being declared the most destructive fire in Los Angeles history, according to L.A.'s Fire Chief. At least 1,000 structures have been destroyed, and a large number of people have been seriously injured, including some first responders. As of Wednesday afternoon, the Palisades Fire is reported by Cal Fire to have burned at least 15,832 acres since it broke out Tuesday morning in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles. The fire started as a brush fire but quickly exploded due to powerful winds which ripped through the area.
