From rock bottom to a dream life, Granite Bay cleaning service owner has story of determination, redemption

At first glance, Linnsey Dolson, the wildly successful owner of Linnsey's Cleaning Services in Granite Bay, looks to be one of those people born into a charmed life. With her flowing, glamorous blonde hair, unbelievably long manicured nails and trademark hot pink Tesla, Dolson is a vision of confidence and success. Yet behind that success is a story of grit and determination, a woman who had a rough start but clawed her way out to eventually create her own personal empire. For many years of her early adult life, Dolson struggled with addiction. At one point, she even became homeless. Yet eventually, after several attempts, she found the strength and determination to enter and stay in rehab; she temporarily moved into a transitional home in Auburn, an event that unbeknownst to her at the time would mark a huge turning point. During that time period, Dolson got a job with a cleaning service, and it wasn't long before a light bulb went on in her head: She realized she could duplicate that business plan on her own. "I started from complete scratch," said Dolson. "When I started Linnsey's, I got sober, had absolutely nothing. I started with a $500 car that had no power steering. And I used to have to take a piece of cardboard and put it underneath my car so I wouldn't leak oil on these multi-million dollar driveways." Dolson describes those early days as a time of incredible determination. She eventually made enough money to buy a van, where she had "Linnsey's Cleaning Service" proudly on display. "I just had the mindset that failure was not an option. I would clean houses all day, go home, feed the kids and then go clean businesses all night until 2, 3, 4 in the morning," said Dolson. "And then I'd be back home and up at 7 a.m. cleaning houses to build enough clientele to be able to hire staff." Linnsey's Cleaning Services quickly built a solid reputation for its high quality of work and customer service in homes and business properties. Within five years, Dolson said the business grew from nothing to a thriving company that brought in seven figures. For seven years, Linnsey's Cleaning Services was a fixture in the Auburn area, though they serviced homes and businesses throughout the region. Dolson said it became clear to her early there is a huge need and demand in the community for her service. "You really do get to make a difference in people's lives. People under-estimate what house cleaning does," said Dolson. "There are people who are disabled who can't clean, there are these moms who are just overwhelmed that are barely able to keep up with the day to day and you make such a difference in people's lives. There's such a need for it." In November 2024, Dolson made a big decision: She moved Linnsey's Cleaning Services to Granite Bay. The company has an office in the Granite Bay Village Shopping Center at 8605 Auburn-Folsom Road. The location is ideal because it's a central spot between her many service areas. "It's an incredible community," said Dolson. "And what's perfect about it is that we've grown to the point that we service such a big location, all of Placer County, El Dorado, Folsom, and so Granite Bay is a perfect dead center for all our service areas." If you're wondering how Dolson cleans with those long nails, she stopped cleaning three years into the business. Her focus turned to building a strong company team with dozens of employees. The company recently celebrated eight years in business. Nowadays, Dolson splits her professional energies also working as a social media influencer, where she very openly discusses her story of recovery. On her Instagram page, she shares motivational messages about overcoming challenges and serving as an inspiration to others; she is proudly nine years sober. Dolson's goal is to reach 1 million followers on TikTok, she's scheduled to appear on Good Morning America to tell her story in June, and be interviewed on Khloe Kardashian's podcast for a feature on inspirational people in July. As for Linnsey's Cleaning Services, Dolson has a goal of growing the company in the next two years to double the size it is now. She talks proudly of the fabulous team of women who keep the company thriving and a joyous place to work. Of course, she takes great pride in how far she's come, but she credits the people who have supported her along the way, like her company team, for helping her to fly and build a life that has surpassed her wildest dreams. "I'm proud of myself and I'm also proud of my team," said Dolson. "I have the most incredible staff and we're just on fire together. We are incredible and I'm just as proud of my team as I am myself because I wouldn't have been able to do it without my incredible team."
