Allene Louise Woods 12/19/1938 - 4/4/2025

Allene Louise Woods, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2025, in California at the age of 86. Born December 19, 1938, in Weed California, Allene was the cherished daughter of Allen Emery Woods and Ellen Olivia Woods. A proud 5th generation Californian, she came from a long line of pioneers whose legacy shaped the land she so dearly loved. Allene spent most of her life working in retail, where she was known for her grace, work ethic, and genuine care for others. Later in life, after retirement, she moved to a senior community where she was active in the Red Hat Society, Unity Church and yoga classes. She was blessed to have found some very good friends and a long-time companion. They were central in her ability to stay independent; she was very grateful for them in her life. Above all, Allene's life was defined by her deep love of her family. She was the devoted mother of six children: Kim Smith, Laura Willey, Kathleen Cowman, Marcia Thomason, Karla Thomason-Schwartz, and Kyle Thomason. She was the loving grandmother of thirteen, great grandmother of 14 with one on the way. Allene is survived by her beloved sisters, Margaret Lampe and Wendy Clubb, and was preceded in death by her sister Mel Harvill. Her life was one of quiet strength and unshakable devotion. Whether California or Iowa, her deep love for her family never wavered. She was always there with encouragement, a listening ear, a warm smile, and a heart full of love. Allene's legacy is one of compassion, resilience, generosity, and boundless love. She will be deeply missed by all who had the blessing of knowing her. A private Celebration of Life will be held May 18, 2025 with family and close friends.
