K-ZAP celebrates 10th anniversary with Robin Trower concert at Quarry Park Amphitheater

Sacramento community radio station K-ZAP is holding a 10th-anniversary celebration concert featuring legendary guitarist Robin Trower on Thursday, Sept. 25, at Quarry Park Amphitheater, located at 4000 Rocklin Road in Rocklin. Reviving the legacy of the original KZAP, which debuted Nov. 8, 1968, as a freeform radio pioneer, K-ZAP re-launched on July 4, 2015, blending favorite tracks from legendary artists with fresh sounds from emerging talents. This volunteer-driven station has rekindled a beloved piece of Sacramento's musical past, thriving as a community hub for music lovers. Trower, born March 9, 1945, brings his iconic blues-rock prowess to the stage. Known for his time with Procol Harum (1967-71) and his solo hit "Bridge of Sighs" (1974), which achieved gold status with more than 1 million copies sold, Trower's career spans six decades. His latest release, "Come and Find Me" (2025), underscores his ongoing influence, drawing comparisons to Jimi Hendrix for his soulful guitar work. Quarry Park Amphitheater now offers a stunning backdrop with its granite walls, 2-acre lake and 60-foot waterfall.
