El Dorado Water Agency GM elected to state board

The El Dorado Water Agency (EDWA) announced that General Manager Rebecca Guo has been elected to the Association of California Water Agencies (ACWA) Board to represent Region 3 for the 2026-27 term. EDWA officials are celebrating this development, as Guo will be in a position to advocate for El Dorado County's water resource needs, including investments in watershed management, water reliability and drought preparedness. "It's an honor to represent Region 3 on the ACWA Board as our mountain county plays a critical role in the state's water future," said Guo. "With California facing increasingly complex water challenges, EDWA remains committed to championing local water resilience through increased state and regional collaboration." ACWA's Region 3 includes 14 counties in Northern California, stretching from Modoc County to Inyo County. This area encompasses a diverse range of water challenges - from forested headwaters to agricultural valleys. Guo's election places El Dorado County in a key leadership position as the region navigates complex issues such as wildfire recovery efforts, landscape-scale watershed restoration projects and long-term water supply planning. "El Dorado Water Agency has always been a forward-thinking force in regional water planning," said El Dorado County Supervisor and EDWA Board Chair Lori Parlin. "With Rebecca's election to the ACWA board, we have an exciting opportunity to elevate El Dorado County's voice and make sure our priorities are front and center in shaping California's water future." El Dorado Water Agency has served the community for 66 years; it is a public agency created under the 1959 El Dorado County Water Agency Act.
