Folsom Lake State Recreation Area offers November nature programs

Folsom Lake State Recreation Area is hosting a variety of outdoor education programs throughout November, offering residents opportunities to explore local wildlife, geology and history. The programs include guided hikes focusing on botany, birdwatching and geology, as well as specialized events such as a beaver habitat walk, a 16-mile history bike ride from Nimbus Dam to Folsom Dam, and sunset explorations. A Junior Rangers Fall Scavenger Hunt on Nov. 15 is designed specifically for children. Most programs are recommended for ages 5 and up, with children required to be accompanied by an adult. Participants should bring water, snacks and closed-toe shoes, with sunscreen and layered clothing recommended.
