Ferrari Pavilion retail center breaks ground in Lincoln

The City of Lincoln and Haggerty Construction broke ground last Friday morning, Dec. 5, on the new Ferrari Pavilion across from the Safeway shopping center. The retail center located off Ferrari Ranch Road and Lincoln Boulevard is estimated to be 70,000 square feet of retail space. Planned tenants include Grocery Outlet, Starbucks, Quick Quack Car Wash, Wendy's, The Learning Experience, Circle K and Jersey Mike's. Mayor Holly Andreatta said she got dressed with intent that morning for the event. "I had a very pretty Christmas sweater that said bright on it, because even though it's foggy, it's very bright morning," Andreatta said. "But as I was getting my coffee, some kind of jelly spilled on my sweater and I had to walk upstairs and change. I was really mad, because I wanted to signal that this is a very bright day for Lincoln." Andreatta said Ferrari Pavilion will provide Lincoln with more choices to shop and also revenue for public safety. "It's going to be great because it gives the residents of Lincoln more choices, but also it will bring in revenue that funds our public safety, our police, our fire and other general fund things," Andreatta shared. "So we're really excited. The whole council is really excited, and we can't wait to come back and do a ribbon cutting when this thing gets open." City Manager Sean Scully said projects like Ferrari Pavilion are crucial to generating taxes to help various city departments. "Infill commercial projects are an important piece of the overall economic development strategy in Lincoln," he shared. "Making sure that parcels along main transportation corridors are built with community and area serving retail that not only provides convenience to our residents but also generates critical sales tax revenue to support our general fund departments such as police, fire, recreation and library services." Scully said the project has been long planned. "Ferrari Pavilion is a critical commercial project for Lincoln's commercial corridor," Sculley said. "The project has been ... meticulously designed to maximize current and future retail potential."
