Duffin decides on Georgia Southern University

Del Oro High senior Aly Duffin has verbally committed to play volleyball for Georgia Southern University next fall. As a varsity sophomore Duffin accumulated 154 kills and more than doubled that with 258 kills her junior year. She was also an All-Sierra Foothill League honorable mention in 2009.Duffin said she ultimately chose to play for the Georgia Southern Eagles because of the family atmosphere."Southern hospitality is a real thing," she said. "The team is like one big family. I was able to practice and spend a good deal of time with the girls. They were all so nice and down to earth."The 6-0 Duffin said initially she had doubts about committing to a school so far from home, but her family believes it is the best fit, and supports the decision.With Belle Obert verbally committed to Butler University, the Del Oro volleyball team now has two 6-0 seniors heading to Div. I schools.
