Roseville city schools host 'Walk & Roll' Day on Jan. 22

The Roseville City School District invites parents to join friends and neighbors in an active way to travel to school on Jan. 22. Parents can get moving for Walk & Roll to School Day on Thursday, Jan. 22. An interactive map can be viewed online to locate neighborhood "Safe Routes to School." Since 2009, the City of Roseville Safe Routes to School program has been encouraging schools to promote walking and biking as an alternate mode of transportation to school. Safe Routes staff work closely with schools in all Roseville districts to coordinate walking and biking programs. Some of the Roseville active school programs events include International Walk and Bike to School Days, Walking Wednesdays, Bike Rodeos, safety assemblies, Drop & Walk program and school safety patrol. Roseville neighborhood motorists are urged to use extra caution Jan. 22, as more pedestrians and cyclists are expected than usual during the school commute, authorities said.
