3 arrested in crackdown on retail theft in Folsom

Three suspects are in custody for taking part in organized retail theft in Folsom. This arrest is the result of what Folsom Police call a blitz operation they recently launched to address the consistent rise of retail theft in Folsom and in the Sacramento region and state. The operation was a partnership between the Folsom PD special investigations unit, patrol operations and a national retailer. According to Folsom PD, on Wednesday, Jan. 28, detectives arrested three people on felony and misdemeanor charges, issued a formal trespass notice to a previously identified theft suspect and assisted the retailer by providing education to a juvenile suspected of shoplifting. Suspects arrested were Robert Carroll of Sacramento, Aida Ilie of Sacramento and Jeronimo Podestaklappenbach of Folsom. All three were known theft suspects from prior incidents and were arrested on a combination of felony and misdemeanor theft charges, as well as outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants, according to Folsom PD. In a social media post, Folsom PD discussed the arrest and assured the community these efforts will continue. "The Folsom Police Department is grateful for its strong partnerships with our local business community and their continued collaboration in addressing quality-of-life crimes," Folsom PD said.
