Scavenger hunt brings families to Historic Folsom in search of mini pigs

Families can embark on a monthlong treasure hunt through Historic Folsom's Sutter Street district during "Where's Winnie?" a free scavenger hunt running March 1-29. Participants will search for Mini Winnie figurines hidden inside participating shops, collecting stamps in event passports available at any merchant location. Completed passports must be turned in at Snooks by noon March 29 for entry into a grand prize drawing at 2 p.m. that day in front of the store. Children can keep the Mini Winnies they find or trade them for small treats at participating businesses while exploring the historic downtown area. The hunt encourages families to discover local shops and spend time together outdoors in the walkable district. The event includes a special highlight on March 22, when real pigs will visit Historic Folsom Plaza from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sacramento Barnyard Bidders will present the live animal experience, which organizers describe as a returning favorite among families and animal enthusiasts. The pig visit requires no registration and is free to attend, offering hands-on learning opportunities for children of all ages.
