Folsom aquatic safety expert named to CA Water Safety Coalition Board

A longtime professional with the City of Folsom Parks & Recreation Department and local expert on aquatic safety has been selected to serve on the Board of Directors for the California Water Safety Coalition. Chad Gunter, who manages the Steve Miklos Aquatic Center in Folsom, joins the board for the statewide organization which is dedicated to reducing water-related injuries and fatalities through advocacy, education and policy development. As a board member, Gunter will help support the coalition's mission by contributing his expertise and leadership in aquatic safety and recreation services. As manager, Gunter oversees Folsom's aquatic facility which offers year-round recreational swimming, lessons, fitness programs and competitive aquatics for community members of all ages. Gunter brings more than 25 years of experience in public recreation with an emphasis on aquatic programming and water safety services designed to prevent drownings and promote safe water practices. Throughout his career, he has worked to advance high-quality recreation programs while prioritizing public safety and community education.
