The "Shiftin' Gears" CD debuts Tuesday at Kim's Country Kitchen in Lincoln."This CD more truly reflects what we do, which is rockabilly and country," Weiss explained.But Tuesday's CD release party will also be bittersweet to the four-year-old band as members say goodbye to Marshal Kee.Keyboardist/harmonica player/vocalist Kee, a founding member of the band, is leaving the band because of personal issues."He's been a very integral role in the sound of Lincoln Highway," Weiss said. "His lead in harmony vocals, his versatility with the harmonica and keyboards. He has been a major player in the success of Lincoln Highway."Weiss met Kee at the Sun City Lincoln Hills Music Group."I'm going to miss him because I won't have anyone to butt heads with," Weiss said. "We've been butting heads musically for four years. I'll miss him simply because of his musicianship as it's related to our performances."Other Lincoln Highway Band members are George Bungarz on rhythm guitar and vocals; Mike Sisemore on lead guitar and vocals; and Charlie Keeney on drums.The band performs, on the average, nine gigs a month within a 50-mile radius."I've thoroughly enjoyed my time with Lincoln Highway. I wish the guys continued success which they so deserve," Kee said. "I will continue teaching my students and performing solo as usual. I play at the local coffee shops and restaurants."
