Twelve Bridges rolls past Lincoln in D4 quarterfinal

In a matchup of crosstown rivals and a rematch of last season's Sac-Joaquin Section girls soccer championship, No. 2 seed Twelve Bridges left little doubt. The Raging Rhinos erupted for three goals in each half Monday night, blanking No. 7 Lincoln 6-0 in a Division IV quarterfinal at a neutral site. Twelve Bridges built a 3-0 lead by halftime and never allowing the Fighting Zebras to gain a foothold. The Rhinos' defensive unit and goalkeeper Giselle Guerrero combined for the shutout. Sophomore Mia Summerhays scored twice for the Rhinos, while senior Isa Rivera netted two goals and added two assists. Lily Miller contributed a goal and two assists, and Gabriella Perry added a goal. Rivera factored into four of the team's six goals, while Miller's three-point night helped keep constant pressure on the Lincoln back line. In total, Twelve Bridges assisted on all six goals. The Raging Rhinos (13-3-1) inch closer to repeating as section champions, as they are set to host No. 3 Oakmont on Wednesday night in the semifinals. The winner of Wednesday's match will face either No. 1 Oakdale or No. 4 Ripon in next Saturday's final. Lincoln ended its season at 15-7-1.
