Grand reopening held for 9Round Kickboxing Fitness in Lincoln

After months of eager anticipation, 9Round Kickboxing Fitness officially reopened its doors on Thursday, Feb. 19, bringing in a fresh, new, revitalized space with a renewed focus on community health and wellness. 9Round Kickboxing Fitness was founded in 2008 by Shannon and Heather Hudson, with the first location opening in Greenville, South Carolina, and eventually expanding nationwide to more than 200 independently owned and operated locations. Located at 69 Lincoln Blvd, Suite F, 9Round has returned with updated equipment, refreshed facilities, a newly improved digital fitness-tracking app called 9Round Now, and a continued commitment to providing high-quality workouts and community wellness. Unlike traditional gyms built around scheduled classes, 9Round operates on a rotating circuit model. Members move through nine trainer-guided stations that combine boxing and kickboxing techniques with strength and cardio exercises. Because there are no set class times, participants can start their workouts whenever they arrive and complete the full session in about 30 minutes. The structure is designed to make fitness more accessible for busy professionals, parents and students looking for an efficient yet challenging routine without traditional business hours. Owners Mandie VanBuren and Darryl McCullough recently acquired the kickboxing fitness center from the previous owner after the business experienced financial difficulties. "I've had a membership here for over a year before we purchased 9Round. I heard the previous owner was going to close if he couldn't find someone to take over, and I just loved this place, so I started putting the buzz in my husband's ear," VanBuren said. "We have previous franchise ownership experience; it took us a few months, but we saw the real merit of a place like this to build for the community that everyone can enjoy." This 9Round location has been completely remodeled and redesigned to better serve the community while providing more accessible and busy lifestyle-friendly workouts, offering 24/7 workout access where members can enter using a keyfob whenever they want to start a workout. The interior has been repainted, according to McCullough. "it's gotten much brighter in here. Our next step is adding a 365 model where our members will be able to come 24/7 to get their workouts done. Each station will have digital monitors that show each movement as their workouts change," said McCullough. "Every day, members come in, and there will be fresh movements on each screen. I think it'll add a lot more accessibility for people." As the gym resumes regular operations, its focus remains on helping members build strength, confidence and consistency. With its signature blend of convenience, coaching, nutrition offerings, supplements and high-energy workouts, 9Round is once again inviting residents to step onto the circuit and rediscover the motivation that comes from training not just your body but your mind.
