Rocklin woman's business vision starts small with 'mobile coffee bar' The Pourch

Jordyn Caulfield is a young Rocklin businesswoman who envisions owning a brick-and-mortar establishment someday. But to start, she's testing the water with The Pourch Coffee Co., having turned an old horse trailer into a "mobile coffee bar," according to her Instagram. Her trailer, renovated inside, sporting bright white paint and accented with wood paneling, was set up next to the driving range at Emerald Lakes Golf Course in Elk Grove on Sunday morning as the Clubs and Coffee women's group hit buckets of balls and chatted while sipping on drinks from The Pourch's menu as music played in the background. Caulfield founded The Pourch in December 2024 and offers a thorough menu with various milks and syrups available. Lemonade, hot cocoa and chai tea are also on the menu. Caulfield had a steady stream of customers throughout the morning as golfers smacked balls onto the driving range grass. "It's a lot less overhead than brick and mortar. I'm hoping to get into that eventually but figured I'd start here for a couple years and see where it takes me, see if I can build a clientele at this first," Caulfield said during a rare break. "It's a little bit of a drive out here, but it's worth it." Caulfield does a lot of private events and pop-ups at sporting events and said people normally reach out to her through Instagram @thepourchcoffeeco. "I wanted to feel very welcoming, like you're having a cup of coffee on your front porch … and my brick and mortar – when I create it – is hopefully going to be like a house, like having coffee on your front porch instead of brick and mortar," she said.
