Oak Ridge offense dries up in 48-42 loss to McClatchy

Oak Ridge girls' basketball team scored 28 points in the first half, but could only manage 14 in the second half and only scored four points in the last 6:49 of the game and lost the Sac-Joaquin Section semifinal game to McClatchy on Tuesday, 48-42. The Trojans led 14-11 after the first quarter and were still leading at halftime, 28-22, but two minutes into the third quarter the game was tied at 28. McClatchy took the lead for the final time with just over four minutes to play in the fourth quarter and despite it being a one possession game late, Oak Ridge couldn't tie the score. The Trojans not only committed many turnovers, but also missed several layups and shots in the paint throughout the game. Leah Harris led the Trojans with 15 points, while Vanessa Johnson finished with 12 points. Division 5 Faith Christian 61, John Adams Academy, 41 The No. 2 seeded Lions had their way with John Adams. "Not much of a story from the John Adams side after the first quarter," John Adams coach Anthony Schwartz said. "Nadaysia Bowlin had a solid game. Most everything else was Faith Christian playing in a quite superior way." Elliott Schwartz led the Patriots with 17, while Bowlin added 13.
