Roseville Planning Commission OKs Grace Collective Church move

City officials this month allowed a new church to move down the road to a larger facility on Pleasant Grove Boulevard in Northwest Roseville. The Roseville Planning Commission approved a conditional use permit Feb. 12 for Grace Collective Church to occupy most of a 7,650 square-foot building at the Pleasant Grove Professional Center. Grace Collective currently gathers at a commercial center shop two miles north at 9001 Foothills Blvd. Not to be confused with other "Grace" churches in the region, Grace Collective is a National American Baptist Conference "plant" that officially launched in Roseville last year, said Pastor Andrew MacDonald on social media. "In 2022, Jenn and I moved to Roseville with our three kids to pastor a church. This past year, God stirred in us a new calling to begin a fresh work in West Roseville," the pastor announced on Instagram. The new church site is located at 1219 Pleasant Grove Boulevard on the south side, about midway between Foothills and Washington boulevards, and within the Northwest Roseville Specific Plan Area. The site is zoned business-professional, one of 10 buildings in the pro center, occupied mainly by professional services and medical offices, staff said. The area is adjacent to Pleasant Grove Blvd. to the north, Arbor View Village center west, open space and low-density housing south, plus railroad tracks and low-density housing east. The permit allows Grace Collective to operate within a 5,600 square-foot suite of the 7,650 square-foot building. The other suite in the building is currently used by InFocus Financial, staff said. The suite would be divided into separate spaces for assembly, daycare and office uses. The primary church use is considered community assembly, which needs a conditional permit in the business district. The daycare and office uses are allowed by right, not subject to review, staff explained. The Planning Commission unanimously voted 5-0 for the project on the consent agenda of the Feb. 12 meeting.
