Soroptimist Loomis Basin collects used ink cartridges to fund local education programs

Residents looking to recycle used ink cartridges now have a simple way to give back while helping the environment. Soroptimist International of Loomis Basin is collecting used inkjet cartridges — not laser — at multiple convenient drop-off locations in Loomis and Roseville. Drop-off sites include Hebard Insurance Solutions at 3837 Taylor Road in Loomis, JC Bookkeeping & Financial Services at 5985 Horseshoe Bar Road in Loomis, Loomis Self Storage at 5950 Jetton Lane in Loomis, and Next Step Wealth Management at 151 N. Sunrise Ave., Suite 1306, in Roseville. Funds raised through the cartridge recycling program go directly toward local initiatives that support women and girls in the community. Among the programs benefiting from the effort are Live Your Dream education awards for single mothers, Dream It, Be It career guidance for young girls, Stop Trafficking Awareness, and grants for teachers and high school students. Organizers say the program is an easy way for households and businesses to make a meaningful difference with items that would otherwise end up in a landfill.
