Dorothy meets Alice, or The Wizard of Wonderland at Sutter Street Theatre

Two legendary characters from the beloved childhood stories "Alice in Wonderland" and "The Wizard of Oz" come together in a unique storyline and performance at Folsom's Sutter Street Theater this month. The title, "Dorothy Meets Alice or The Wizard of Wonderland" sums up the show's premise; it showcases the delightful meeting of two of literature's most famous young ladies, Dorothy and Alice. The story centers around a young man who procrastinates in writing his book report, but then suddenly finds himself in a strange place - caught somewhere between Oz and Wonderland. The show then becomes the young man's responsibility to unscramble the stories and steer the various characters, from the Cowardly Lion, the Mad Hatter, the Scarecrow and the White Rabbit among others, to their ultimate destinations while avoiding the Wicked Witch and the Red Queen. The performance is described as a hilarious, adventuresome romp filled with laughter and surprises at every turn with some important life lessons along the way. "Dorothy Meets Alice or The Wizard of Wonderland" is written by Joseph Robinette and directed by Mike Jimena. Performances are at 1 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays through March 29.
