Pair arrested with 1/4 pound of meth under hood

Two Olivehurst residents were arrested March 4 with one-fourth pound of meth following a traffic stop. The Placer County Sheriff's Office reported the traffic stop occurred just before 8 p.m. and the driver, identified as QuentinIsaac Lay, 29, was confirmed to be on searchable probation. A search of the vehicle revealed the meth, which the Sheriff's Office confirmed was concealed in a magnetic box attached to the underside of the vehicle's hood. Scales and multiple phones were also found inside the vehicle. According to the online booking log, Lay was charged with transport or sale of a controlled substance between counties, possession of a controlled substance for sale and conspiracy. Lay remains in custody and is ineligible for bail. He is scheduled to appear in court at 8:30 a.m. on March 13 in Department 20 of the Placer County Superior Court. The passenger, Sierra Joceil Marie Toledo, 27, of Olivehurst was also booked on the same charges. Toledo was released from custody on March 6.
