Placer SPCA leader named one of region's Most Admired CEOs

The CEO of Placer SPCA has been recognized by the Sacramento Business Journal as one of the region's Most Admired CEOs. This recognition honors outstanding leadership, community impact and professional excellence in the Sacramento area. Leilani Fratis has led Placer SPCA in her role as CEO for more than two decades, guiding the organization through a period of significant growth and transformation. Since becoming CEO in 2002, she has helped expand the organization's reach and impact throughout the region, impacting countless lives of animals in need. What began as a nonprofit with a $600,000 operating budget has grown into a thriving organization with 70 employees and an annual budget of about $7 million. Under Fratis' leadership, Placer SPCA has also completed major capital campaign projects that have strengthened its ability to serve animals and the community. In January, the organization opened its new Veterinary and Foster Care Center, a $13 million facility funded entirely through donor support. The center builds upon the success of the Adoption & Education Center, which opened near downtown Roseville in 2018 through a partnership with the City of Roseville. Fratis attributes much of the organization's success to collaboration and strong relationships with staff, volunteers, donors and community partners. "Successful organizations are built on meaningful relationships," said Fratis. "I'm incredibly grateful to our dedicated team, our board of directors and the supporters who believe in our mission and make this work possible."
