Duane Voges 9/01/1928 - 3/08/2026

(Firmin) Duane Voges of Auburn passed away on March 8, 2026, after living for 97 amazing years. He was born September 1, 1928 to Firmin and Abigail Voges in Nebraska City, NE and was the eldest son of six children. He served in the US Navy on the USS Jupiter until 1954 when he met his forever sweetheart, Helen "Skip". They raised their 4 children in the Bay Area and, in 1978, moved to their forever home in Newcastle. They were married for 67 years until Helen's death in 2022. Duane was a life-long member of the Catholic Church and a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus. In his spare time, he was an all-around handyman, participated in community events with the Placer Sportsmen, played Santa Claus for families during the holidays, and was extremely skilled in the craft of woodworking. Duane is survived by his 4 children, 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and extended family in his home state of Nebraska. Though he will be deeply missed by family and countless friends, we find comfort in knowing he is at peace and has joined Helen again in eternal life. Services will be held at St. Theresa of Avila in Auburn at 10:30 am on Monday, March 30th.
