Auburn Union School District superintendent earns regional Silver Star award

In a year defined by academic growth and leadership excellence, Auburn Union School District (AUSD) Superintendent Dr. Brittaney Meyer has reached a new career milestone. Following her recent title as Placer County Administrator of the Year, Dr. Meyer was honored with the prestigious Silver Star Award at the Association of California School Administrators (ACSA) Region 2 ceremony on March 13. The Silver Star is a highly competitive accolade, recognizing the "best of the best" across a massive geographic footprint. ACSA Region 2 represents educational leaders from 11 Northern California counties, including Placer, El Dorado, Nevada and Butte. Now in her second year at the helm of AUSD, Dr. Meyer has been credited with a swift and measurable transformation of the district's culture and performance. Her tenure has been marked by significant gains on the California School Dashboard, reflecting "terrific strides in growth" in student achievement and school climate. By securing honors at the county and regional levels, Dr. Meyer has positioned Auburn as a model for educational standards throughout Northern California. The district's Board of Trustees expressed high praise for the superintendent's accomplishments, noting her regional recognition validates the work being done locally every day. School Board President Greg Holt noted, "The board was happy to see Superintendent Meyer recognized by ACSA, but we weren't surprised. Brittaney's personal standard is excellence." Dr. Meyer's journey to the regional stage began Jan. 26, when she was first honored by the Placer County Charter. That local win advanced her to the multi-county Region 2 competition, where she was ultimately selected for the Silver Star, marking her as one of the top educational leaders in the state. The ACSA Administrator of the Year awards are designed to highlight individuals who demonstrate outstanding performance and a tireless commitment to educational quality.
