FLB Entertainment Center a staple in Folsom since 1960

Folsom Lake Bowl Entertainment Center has been in Folsom since 1960; not quite as long as the Folsom Telegraph's 170 years, but Folsom would not be Folsom without it. Family owned and operated by the Dreher family since they purchased the business in 1979, father Wally and kids Dan, Jeremy and Monica have poured their heart and soul into making the business successful for the last 47 years. The entertainment center features 16 bowling lanes, a sports bar and kitchen, and they lease a part of the building to a barber so folks can get their hair cut and bowl all in the same place. Dan Dreher said the owners love Folsom and have deep ties to the community. "We're family owned and operated and have been really involved with the community over the years," Dreher said. "It's a passion of ours to always make the place better and better." The entertainment center has gone through many changes throughout the years, and there's more in store. "We're now embarking on a huge remodel and expansion," Dreher said. "We're adding a large arcade. We're also bringing our Wally's Pizza concept from Cameron Park to Folsom. We're also adding a big outdoor entertainment center. We will remain open through construction and we should be done in late 2027." The changes the entertainment center has made over the years are to "keep up with the Joneses" and it's one reason why the center has thrived over the years. "Failure is not an option in our family," Dreher said. "We all work hard and we fight. We're always overseeing the business and improving it and making it better. "Another thing we do is that we treat our team members well. Our team is our family and over the years we've had many team members with us for five and even 10-plus years." So what keeps people coming back to the Folsom Lake Bowl Entertainment Center throughout the years? "It's because they're consistently having a great time," Dreher said. "We are definitely a business that is not a need but it's a want. If we don't focus on creating a great time for customers it's very easy to not be successful. We're always looking to improve our business. We love entertaining people and we love when people have a good time."
