Deadly shooting incident in Orangevale reported

Two people were killed in a shooting incident in an Orangevale mobile home park on Tuesday, March 24, and a suspect was arrested for double homicide. According to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office, they responded to multiple 911 calls about a shooting in the Sunshine Mobile Village at 6132 Main Avenue near Greenback on Tuesday afternoon. When deputies arrived, they were told the suspect, John Clarke, lived in the village and returned to his trailer. Folsom Police also arrived on the scene to assist with apprehending the suspect and removing the gunshot victims. FPD came armed with a BearCat (armored military-style vehicle); with the armor, they approached the suspect's trailer. Sheriff's deputies and Folsom Police officers then safely extracted two victims from the trailer, according to Sheriff's officials. A female victim was pronounced dead at the scene. A male victim was taken to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The names of the victims will be released by the Coroner once next of kin is notified. Clarke, 58, was detained without incident outside his trailer and later was booked into the Sacramento County Jail on two counts of murder. He is ineligible for bail, according to the Sacramento County Sheriff's Office.
