The Placer County Sheriff's Office needs public help identifying assault suspect

The Placer County Sheriff's Office is actively seeking the public's help identifying a suspect in a BB gun assault this past weekend. The Placer County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's assistance in identifying a suspect involved in two BB gun assaults that occurred during a protest on Saturday, March 28. "At about 2:00 p.m., deputies began receiving reports of individuals being shot with a BB gun during the 'No Kings' protest near the intersection of Bell Road and Highway 49." The Sheriff said. Deputies responded to multiple locations and contacted victims at both the southwest and southeast corners of the intersection. "A total of six victims were identified, all sustained minor injuries and were either treated at the scene or declined medical attention." The Sheriff said. "Deputies, along with assisting units from the California Highway Patrol and our Falcon 30 helicopter searched the area for the suspect vehicle but were unable to locate it," The Sheriff said. "Detectives have since followed up on the investigation, collecting evidence, obtaining witness statements, and canvassing the area for surveillance video." The Placer County Sheriff's Office is now asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has video footage from the area around Bell Road and Highway 49 between 1:30 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. on March 28 to come forward.
