Popular Folsom pizza place expanding to Granite Bay

A hugely popular pizza eatery in Folsom is gearing up for its expansion to Granite Bay this weekend. Slice House by Tony Gemignani is opening a new location at 4080 Douglas Blvd. in Granite Bay's Sierra Oaks Plaza Center on Saturday, April 4. The eatery's namesake, Tony Gemignani, is a world-renowned pizza creator; the Folsom and Granite Bay locations are franchised and operated by Sandeep and Harjot Gill. Like the Folsom restaurant, the Granite Bay Slice House will offer New York, Sicilian, Grandma and Detroit-style pizzas, available by the slice or whole pizza. The menu will also feature pastas, wings, salads and gluten-free, vegan and vegetarian options. Slice House originally opened in San Francisco's historic Italian neighborhood of North Beach in 2010 and has since expanded to include 33 locations. Slice House Granite Bay will be its 34th location. Last year, Gemignani earned two spots on the 50 Top Pizza USA 2025 List: No. 3 for his flagship San Francisco restaurant, Tony's Pizza Napoletana, and No. 33 for Pizza Rock by Tony Gemignani. He was also recognized on the 50 Top Pizza World 2025. "We're excited to open our newest Slice House in Granite Bay and continue growing our presence in the greater Sacramento area," Gemignani said. "We've seen such a strong response at our Folsom location, so it's especially rewarding to expand nearby with our partners, Sandeep and Harjot Gill, who share our passion for great pizza and creating a welcoming experience for every guest." Festivities for opening day will begin at 11 a.m., which will include a special appearance by the pizza champion himself, Gemignani, along with a Slice House hat giveaway for the first 50 guests. There will also be a raffle for a chance to win free pizza for a year. The Granite Bay location will debut an exclusive specialty slice, the Granite Bay, which is topped with sliced avorio mozzarella, chicken, applewood smoked bacon, onions, pesto, ranch, peppadew, calabrian chili ricotta, oregano, romano and garlic olive oil. "We're thrilled to officially open our doors in Granite Bay and bring Slice House to this incredible community," said Sandeep Gill. "Our goal is to create a welcoming place where people can stop in for an amazing slice, gather with friends and family and enjoy the world-class quality and craftsmanship that Slice House is known for. Together with Tony, we look forward to welcoming guests from the greater Sacramento area and making Slice House a go-to destination they can return to again and again." The restaurant offers takeout, delivery and dine-in options and will be open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays. Owners say the restaurant has indoor seating for 55 people and outdoor patio seating for 12 people.
