Auburn City Limits series to feature Forest Sun

Forest Sun and other amazing musicians will perform as part of the Auburn City Limits series at General Gomez Arts on April 25 at 7:30 p.m. Forest Sun is an award-winning singer/songwriter touring in Auburn at this show and at Mount Shasta on June 26. Sun was raised in the orbit of famous folk singers by hippie parents in upstate New York, so he began to learn songwriting from early childhood. With a long and storied career playing across the globe, Sun draws on his deep roots and love in folk, country, reggae and gospel. On this tour, Sun is promoting his new single, "Made of Stars." "It's really a song about gratitude and to do what I do, make music and share it with people," Sun said. Sun releases new songs each month for Patreon subscribers. Sun will be joined by lead guitarist Gawain Matthews, Aaron Germain on bass and Aaron Kierbal on drums. Matthews is a producer and guitarist who works with Sun in the Bay Area. He has toured extensively with Matthew Hart. Gawain makes original productions ranging from acoustic to 70s garage rock to electric pop. Germain began in Massachusetts and has lived in San Francisco since the 2000s. He plays stand-up and electric bass and is both a side man and composer with several albums. Germain is adept in a wide variety of genres and that is reflected in his eclectic productions. Drummer Aaron Kierbel grew up in Los Angeles influenced by the music scenes of jazz, blues, hip-hop, classical Indian, Latin, funk and more. He learned from esteemed drum instructors in Los Angeles and San Francisco. He makes a unique brand of music as a founding member of Rupa and April Fishes called "liberation music." He is also a passionate and respected drumming teacher with an accessible style adaptable to all ages. Forest Sun is streaming his music across all the usual platforms.
