Big Boy No. 4014 rolling into Roseville this week

Friday and Saturday will be big days for Big Boy No. 4014. Big Boy, the world's largest operating steam locomotive, will be on public display in Roseville, and on Saturday, Union Pacific officials say the U.S. Department of Labor Secretary will be on hand for the event. Lori Chavez-DeRemer is scheduled to attend Union Pacific's public display for Big Boy No. 4014 on April 11, talk to Big Boy's steam team and learn more about the famous 1941-era locomotive, including a visit inside the cab of the fully restored steam locomotive. Big Boy No. 4014 is traveling coast to coast this year in honor of America's 250th anniversary. The last time Big Boy made a stop in Roseville, in 2024, thousands of fans came from near and far to see the famous locomotive up close. Following a brief stop in Lincoln on Thursday, the locomotive was scheduled to arrive in Roseville, and viewing hours on Friday are between 1 and 5 p.m. The public display of Big Boy No. 4014 will be at the Roseville railyard at 375 Atlantic St. On Saturday, the public display for Big Boy No. 4014 will be between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Also on Saturday, the city of Roseville will host additional activities, including a Maker's Market and live music at the Vernon Street Town Square from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
