Investigation ongoing in BB gun assaults at 'No Kings' protest

Case Update: Investigation Ongoing in BB gun assaults at March 28 Protest. The Placer County Sheriff's Office continues to actively investigate the BB gun assaults that occurred during the 'No Kings' protest in North Auburn on March 28 near the intersection of Bell Road and Highway 49. "Since the initial incident, detectives have received numerous tips and information from members of the public. We appreciate the community's cooperation and the individuals who have already come forward." the Placer County Sheriff's Office stated in a press release. Due to the large number of people present at the event, investigators believe additional video or photos may exist that could help identify the suspect involved. Several attendees were seen recording during the protest. Police are asking anyone who was present to carefully review their photos and videos for anything that may capture the incident, suspect, or the vehicle involved. "Investigators have received reports involving several potentially associated vehicles. While a number of these have since been ruled out, detectives continue working to narrow the search and identify the vehicle and individual responsible." Police commented. This case is being investigated as a felony violation of California Penal Code 245, assault with a deadly weapon. All six identified victims have been contacted by deputies. If there is anyone who was struck by a BB and has not yet reported the incident, you are urged to come forward. "I may not agree with what they were protesting but I also don't agree with using violence to try and intimidate people into not standing up for what they believe in. It's crazy that people can't debate or protest peacefully these days without fear of getting shot, lethally, or not, it's wrong." commented Megan Walker.
