Rocklin seeks artists for Red, White and Bluegrass

The Rocklin Arts Commission is seeking local artists and makers to join in the upcoming Red, White & Bluegrass event May 2 at Johnson-Springview Park. The lively community celebration will feature bluegrass music, local vendors, food and family-friendly activities in a festive, patriotic atmosphere. Artists interested in showcasing and selling their work are encouraged to apply by April 24. This year's event is especially meaningful, as it helps commemorate the United States' 250th birthday as part of the nationwide America 250 celebration. The festivities begin with the Red, White & Bluegrass Parade, a walking procession through the heart of Rocklin featuring marching bands, decorated family wagons, local heroes and beloved community organizations. The parade will travel from Front Street to the park, bringing the celebration to the streets before the main event begins. The celebration continues at Johnson-Springview Park with an evening full of activities and entertainment for all ages. Visitors can explore interactive displays from city departments, including vehicles from the police and fire departments and equipment from Public Works while learning about upcoming projects, volunteer opportunities and ways to get involved. Families will enjoy bounce houses, face painting, balloon artistry, lawn games and a bubble station, while the event stage features live music and performances throughout the evening. A vendor village with local artisans and makers, along with food trucks and community booths, will round out the festivities before the night concludes with a spectacular fireworks and drone show.
