School lockdown lifted after no threat found

A lockdown of Del Oro High School in Loomis has been lifted after Placer County Sheriff's officials thoroughly searched the campus and found no threat. Earlier in the day, Del Oro along with multiple area schools from Roseville to Loomis were on lockdown, apparently due to the same threat. At 11 a.m. on Friday morning, Rocklin High School was placed on lockdown due to a phone threat, according to Rocklin Police. Del Oro High School and some schools in the Roseville Joint Union High School District were also placed on lockdown as law enforcement ensured safety of students and staff. Placer Union High School District confirmed Confluence West High School in Loomis was also placed on lockdown. At the time of the lockdown, Nick Gaines with the Roseville Police Department said their department, along with Placer County officials, were working to get to the bottom of the threat. "We have received what appears to be the same or similar threat that Placer County is responding to. Our investigations are actively looking into the situation. It appears multiple districts received the same or similar threat," said Gaines at the time of the lockdown. "We are working coordination with school district staff to take all precautionary measures for our students." The public was urged to avoid the areas of the lockdowns while law enforcement investigated. In a social media post, the Placer County Sheriff's Office expressed gratitude that this request was respected. "We appreciate the community's cooperation in avoiding the area, which allowed deputies to respond quickly and ensure the safety of all students and staff," said Placer County officials. "The safety of our children remains our top priority and all threats are taken seriously by our office."
