Arson-suicide case in Roseville neighborhood

There were extremely tense moments in a Roseville neighborhood late Friday afternoon, after people in the area reported an explosion and a fire. Roseville Police and Fire department crews later determined it was a case of arson/suicide. Roseville PD reports at around 4:30 pm, they and the Roseville Fire Department responded to a home on Delta Breeze Lane in Roseville after they received calls of a house fire. Dispatchers also received calls from people saying they heard an explosion before the house fire erupted and they feared a person was inside the burning house. First responders worked fast to secure the area and knock down the structure fire. Once it was safe to do so, responders conducted a primary search of the structure and found the body of a dead adult man in the garage; police said it is believed he committed suicide. Investigators also believe the man was responsible for setting the structure fire. Detectives from Roseville PD worked with fire personnel to secure the scene; the investigation is still considered active and on-going by the Roseville Fire and Police Departments and the Placer County Coroner's Office.
