A record of accountability, transparency and community: Why I'm running for Placer County Supervisor

It has been the honor of a lifetime to serve Lincoln for nearly eight years on our City Council, including two terms as mayor. Together, we've rebuilt trust, improved public safety, restored fiscal sustainability and created a culture of transparency that has become the standard for cities across California. I am profoundly grateful for the trust you've placed in me, and for the chance to serve a community I love with my whole heart. A record of real results – trust through trials When I was first elected in 2018, Lincoln faced serious challenges: financial uncertainty, state and grand jury audits, low public trust and dangerously understaffed police and fire departments. Within my first year, we took action. We resolved lawsuits over illegal water rates, overhauled fiscal management and implemented open-data systems that give residents real-time access to city financials and project information. We ended the culture of secrecy and replaced it with one of transparency, collaboration and problem-solving. We hired more firefighters, restored proper staffing levels in public safety and started the work to reform broken tax-sharing agreements with Placer County, agreements that have held Lincoln back for over two decades. And when tough choices came, I had the courage to make them. Raising utility rates was unpopular, but it was necessary to save our city's infrastructure from literal collapse. Leadership means doing what's right, not what's easy. Don't believe just my word, believe my record. Leading through crisis … again During the Covid-19 pandemic, our city stayed united. Unlike many others, Lincoln did not lose a single business because of city failures or mandates. We created emergency funding for local businesses, youth mental health programs and financial assistance for residents who lost income. We kept our large senior population safe and kept our families thriving and city open for business. At the same time, we confronted homelessness with compassion and accountability. As a result of the initiatives implemented by our city created task force uniting city, county, law enforcement, nonprofits, faith groups and committed volunteers, we reduced our local unhoused population by 91 percent – from nearly 80 due to Covid impacts to just seven individuals pre-TGI project. These weren't "clean-up" efforts or relocations; these were human outcomes – people reconnected with families, jobs and housing through sustainable, community-driven care. That's the kind of leadership I bring: proven, practical, compassionate, resilient, and rooted in community input and results. Why county supervisor – and why now? I love serving Lincoln. But time and again, our city's progress has run into one chronic obstacle: county cooperation. From the uneven tax agreements that starved our public services to the county's handling of large-scale homelessness initiatives like The Gathering Inn Project, too often Lincoln has been treated as an afterthought instead of a partner. I am running because Placer County needs leadership that listens – to residents, not special interests. The county should work with its cities, not around them. Residents deserve a seat at the table – and I intend to bring our community's voice to that table. Proven leadership, trusted integrity I've spent my career standing up for transparency, fiscal accountability and family values, always putting residents first. I know that leadership is service, not status. Our city is now recognized as the third-safest in California, thanks to our police, fire and community working together. That didn't happen by chance – it happened through steady, tested leadership and teamwork. That's what I offer you. Lincoln is thriving again. Like a phoenix, it has risen stronger, safer and more transparent than ever. Now, Placer County needs that renewal. Purpose, not politics This election isn't about politics for me. It's about ensuring our local government reflects the people it serves. My promise remains simple: I will keep fighting for accountability, safety and common-sense leadership – every level, every day. As you consider your vote for supervisor on June 2, I challenge you to look at the record. I have tackled almost insurmountable challenges while on council to make your city work for you and with you. You know what you will get when you vote for me. For the people, only I ask you to look closely and ask the hard questions. Much of the funding and endorsements in this race come from outside our district, from the same voices across negotiation tables, not those rooted in District 2's needs. I respect regional partners and industry leaders and have developed friendly working relationships, but I always have and always will answer only to you. I'm proud to have the strong support of locals within District 2. Those who understand district needs and are aligned with them are nearly unanimously behind me: elected officials, educators, first responders, faith leaders, volunteers and residents across the district. This campaign is locally funded, volunteer-driven and powered by our community. This is a true grassroots movement – join us! Solutions focused – no negative campaigning I am running on experience, ideas and solutions for a more sustainable future. I am running to bring the same record of Accountability, Transparency, and Community I developed in Lincoln to our District 2 county representation. I understand the role of county supervisor is bigger than this district and just this city. I look forward to bringing my people first perspective to tackle the pressing issues of affordability, regional safety net and public safety services, economic development and cross-jurisdictional issues. The county is doing important work, and I will amplify those efforts while making sure local needs stop being lost in the process. I want to be elected because I stand for something you believe in.
