Folsom PD honors dispatchers

The men and women who answer the community's calls for help are being honored by the Folsom Police Department this week. The recognition is in honor of National Public Safety Telecommunications week, which happens from April 12-18. In a social media post, Folsom PD displayed pictures of several of its dispatchers and explained they are the vital link to their police officers, firefighters, crisis interventionists and citizens. The dispatchers must multi-task in a high-pressure situation, monitoring radio activity, traffic cameras and other technologies to help in providing information and lifesaving instructions which enhancing everyone's safety. In 2025, Folsom PD said its dispatchers answered 63,214 telephone calls, 22,826 of which were 911 calls and created 38,427 incidents while answering more than 99 percent of all 911 calls in 15 seconds or less. "Folsom Police dispatchers are the calm on the end of the line when calm is needed most and serve with care, compassion, and Esprit de Corps while aiding in the relentless pursuit of criminal behavior and fostering positive relationships." said Folsom PD in their social media post. Folsom PD extended its appreciation to all its dispatchers for the vital role they play in helping to keep the community safe.
