Starbucks closes Elm Ave. location in Auburn

Auburn lost a Starbucks when the location in the Auburn Town Center permanently closed last month. The location at 392 Elm Avenue closed its doors at 2 p.m. March 30, according to a sign left on the door. Hours after the closure, the community shared the news in the Chit Chat in Auburn Facebook group. "So sad, this was my favorite location for many years," Elizabeth DePalma Sands commented. Added Jane Crue, "Noooo! I love this location!!! I'm SO sad!" "Looks like Dutch Bros. are going to get a lot more business," Josh Ford also commented. Another Chit Chat post on April 4 shared photos of the suite stripped of the Starbucks branding and with covered windows. The Auburn Journal reached out to the franchise regarding the closure, and Starbucks provided the following statement: "We have been proud to be a part of the lives of our customers at this store since 1996. As part of Starbucks standard course of business, we continually review and evaluate our locations to ensure a healthy store portfolio. We will continue to serve the Auburn community and encourage our customers to visit us at our other locations in the area." According to the Starbucks website, there are still five locations in Auburn: Auburn Ravine & I-80 location (1790 Auburn Ravine Road) Foresthill & Lincoln (13366 Lincoln Way) Highway 49 & Willow Creek (11885 Willow Creek Drive) Safeway Auburn (2550 Bell Road) Target Auburn (2700 Bell Road)
