Lincoln Police arrest 4 for illegal firearm downtown

The Lincoln Police Department made an illegal firearm arrest in Downtown Lincoln last weekend. Officers observed a vehicle with five occupants who were acting suspicious and trying to avoid officer presence. A vehicle stop for an equipment violation was conducted after the vehicle left the 300 block of Lincoln Boulevard. According to the police department, when the officers made contact with the vehicle and its occupants, they observed a loaded Glock handgun with an extended magazine in plain view inside the vehicle. Kevin Juareztomas, 20, Crystofer Ramonmauricio, 18, Jorge Marcos, 19, and a juvenile were arrested on multiple charges. Ramonmauricio was released from custody on April 18 and Juareztomas was released on April 19. Marcos remains in custody and was scheduled to appear in court on Friday. Lincoln PD confirmed officers found multiple indications that some of these individuals were suspected Sureño gang members. "Gang members and their affiliates possessing firearms illegally in Lincoln is unacceptable," police stated. "Another great example of a proactive approach to policing by our officers." "Great job being observant, getting illegal guns off the streets, and getting possible gang members off the streets of Lincoln," Becky Baumbaugh Troxell commented.
