City to host Business Walk

The City of Lincoln announced a Business Walk to engage the local business community. The city, in partnership with local organizations, will conduct a Business Walk initiative across key commercial areas, including cowntown, Twelve Bridges, Lincoln Crossing, Sterling Pointe and Foskett areas on May 7 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. This effort is designed to connect directly with brick-and-mortar businesses through brief, face-to-face conversations. The initiative aims to strengthen relationships with the business community while collecting valuable insights with the hope to inform future conversations, policies and programs. City representatives and partners will spend five to seven minutes with each participating business to gather feedback, better understand current needs and identify opportunities for support. Business owners and managers are strongly encouraged to be present during the visit to share their firsthand insights and feedback. Businesses that are home-based, unable to participate on May 7 or located outside of the designated areas are also encouraged to participate by submitting feedback through a short online form https://forms.office.com/g/J895xS0RUC. This form will close on May 29. "The goal of this effort is to listen, learn and collaborate," said Erin Frye, economic development and communications specialist. "While we cannot guarantee immediate changes, the information gathered will play an important role in shaping how we support and engage with our local businesses moving forward." The city hopes the business walk provides a welcoming and convenient way for business owners to share their perspectives in a more relaxed setting outside of formal meetings or office environments, while also celebrating and connecting with the mom-and-pop shops, restaurants and boutiques that make Lincoln unique.
