Nevada County Democrats to host candidate forum April 27

The Nevada County Democrats will host a public candidate forum Sunday, April 27, at the Miners Foundry Cultural Center in Nevada City. The forum offers community members an opportunity to hear directly from candidates in person and on stage about the issues that matter most to Nevada County residents. Confirmed candidates include: · Nevada City Council candidates Adam Kline, Micayla Sortland and James Khatami. · Nevada County Superintendent of Schools John Baggett. · Congressional District 3 candidates Chris Bennett and Heidi Hall. Armando Salud-Ambriz, Clerk Recorder Registrar of Voters, will speak about voting security. Former County Superintendent Terry McAteer will speak about the California governor's race. Attendees will gain insight into candidates' positions, priorities and visions for the future and will have the chance to engage with the democratic process in an open and informative setting. All community members are encouraged to attend. Doors open at 5 p.m., and the program runs from 5:30-7 at the Miners Foundry Cultural Center at 325 Spring St. in Nevada City.
