Man arrested for 2024 murder in El Dorado County

After a year-and-a half intensive investigation, authorities say justice is being served for the murder of a man in Placerville in 2024. A man is in custody for the murder of an El Dorado County man in 2024. El Dorado County Sheriff's Office officials said they have arrested 47-year-old Joshua Lighthall of Sacramento in connection with the 2024 murder of Tyson Fiddler. Fiddler was reported missing after leaving PF's Roadhouse in Placerville early in the morning in October of 2024. After several days of searching, officials found Fiddler's body in a remote area of the county. The murder case triggered a lengthy and detailed investigation, according to El Dorado Sheriff's officials, which culminated in the arrest of Lighthall on April 23, 2026. "We greatly appreciate the patience and support of the community and those involved with this investigation as we work to find justice for Tyson." said the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office, in a social media post. Lighthall was booked into the El Dorado County Jail on a no-bail arrest warrant for murder.
