Roseville announces new chief of police

The City of Roseville is welcoming a new chief of police. Jeff Beigh will take over following a competitive recruitment process. City Manager Dominick Casey made the announcement on social media and said Beigh will serve as Roseville's 19th police chief. Beigh follows Chief Troy Bergstrom, who retired April 28. Beigh has served with the Roseville Police Department for 20 years and has worked in several leadership roles from patrol, narcotics, social services unit, professional standards and training, and as SWAT commander. Beigh was also a founding member of the Family Mobile Team in partnership with Placer County Health and Human Services. That program evolved into a broader, countywide approach to supporting youth and families. "Jeff Beigh is a proven leader with deep institutional knowledge and strong citywide support," said Casey. "His people-centered approach to leadership is grounded in transparency, accountability and community-oriented policing that builds trust and fosters operational excellence." Beigh will oversee a $69 million annual operating budget and the department's 240 sworn and professional staff.
