Driver with allegedly 4 times legal alcohol limit arrested on Folsom city streets

A driver on Folsom city streets was found to have four times the legal limit of alcohol in their system; they were caught thanks to community members calling police to report a suspected impaired driver. Police say on May 1, they received calls from concerned community members about a driver that seemed impaired near Iron Point and Grover roads. Officers quickly found the car and initiated a traffic stop. A field sobriety test was conducted along with a preliminary alcohol screening; police say the driver's blood-alcohol level was measured at 0.349 percent, which is more than four times the legal limit. The driver was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and booked into the Sacramento County Jail. In a social media post, police praised community members for making that important call. "We appreciate the citizens who reported this incident. Your vigilance plays a critical role in helping keep our community safe," said police. Police said the incident also serves as an important reminder: Never drink and drive.
