Soroptimist American River awards $36.7K to 14 women

Soroptimist International of the American River recently celebrated its annual Awards Night, recognizing 14 outstanding women and girls in the community for their leadership, service, perseverance and dedication to personal growth: $36,700 was awarded! The evening brought together club members, donors, families and supporters to honor recipients of several Soroptimist programs designed to empower women and girls through access to education and opportunities. Honorees shared stories of determination, overcoming obstacles and the hope of building brighter futures for themselves and their families. Special recognition was given to the generous donors whose contributions make the scholarships and awards possible each year. Club members expressed gratitude for the trust donors placed in Soroptimist to invest in the women and girls of our community. As was shared during the evening, "True giving is the act of lifting someone to a brighter tomorrow."
