Folsom Fire Department celebrates 4 promotions

There were moments filled with pride and gratitude for members of the Folsom Fire Department recently, as they celebrated the promotion of several members. Four promotions were recognized and celebrated during a ceremony at the Folsom Community Center, the culmination of years of dedication, leadership and commitment to the department. New Fire Chief Jason Solak was honored; he served as interim fire chief since October 2025, when longtime Chief Ken Cusano retired. After several months leading the department, city officials realized he was the best person for the job permanently. Solak assumed the role on March 1. Also promoted and celebrated were Battalion Chief Shawn Luce, Captain Sean Hennessy and Engineer Jared Ralph. In a social media post, Folsom Fire Department officials praised the men for their accomplishments and dedication to serving the community. "These promotions represent years of hard work, training, sacrifice and service. We're proud to see these members step into their new roles and continue leading from the front," Fire Department officials said in the post. The Folsom Fire Department was established in 1857 and serves a population of about 92,577 people across 30 square miles.
