Folsom Fire Station 36 water leak repair work extended

Repair work at Folsom Fire Station 36 following the discovery of water leak damage is taking longer than anticipated due to unexpected issues. In a social media post, Folsom Fire officials gave the community an update on work being done to fix water damage to parts of the facility. Fire Station 36 has been closed since the beginning of May so crews could repair the damage and do environmental cleanup work. Station 36 is located at 9700 Oak Avenue Parkway, in the American River Canyon area. Fire officials explained in the post that while repairs were underway, complications arose. "While initial cleanup efforts are complete, additional issues related to previous leaks have extended the repair timeline, which remains uncertain at this time but is expected to continue for at least another week," said Folsom Fire officials. "During this period, personnel and apparatus assigned to Fire Station 36 will continue temporarily operating from Fire Station 39 in Empire Ranch." The initial timeline prediction for the repair work being completed was 7-10 days but has been extended. Folsom Fire officials assure the community emergency response services remain uninterrupted, and response coverage throughout the community continues to be maintained. "We appreciate the community's ongoing patience and understanding," Folsom Fire officials in a social media post.
