Sacramento man arrested for drug possession, shoplifting at Lincoln Target

A Sacramento man was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of possessing narcotics for sale. A Lincoln Police sergeant noticed a suspicious vehicle possibly involved in shoplifting in the Target parking lot in the 900 block of Groveland Lane, according to the Lincoln Police Department. Three individuals, identified as Mario Acosta, 44, Jonathan Damiano, 43, and Joshua Martinez, 30, all of Sacramento, were detained after suspected meth was located in Acosta's possession. Lincoln PD reported a search of Martinez revealed Target merchandise concealed in his pants, in addition to a concealed dagger, 21 grams of meth and an ounce and a half of suspected fentanyl. Acosta was cited for meth possession, according to the police department. Martinez was booked into the South Placer Jail and charged with possession of narcotics for sale, carrying a concealed dirk or dagger, paraphernalia possession, shoplifting, possession of burglary tools and unlawful possession of tear gas. According to the online arrest report, Martinez was also charged with a misdemeanor warrant for aggravated trespassing, a misdemeanor warrant for possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor Sacramento County warrant for shoplifting and a misdemeanor Sacramento County warrant for possession of a narcotic substance. Martinez remained in custody Thursday morning and was scheduled to be arraigned Friday afternoon.
